I was at a "Bike Swap" today and picked up a couple of things. One is a fairly large, heavily-baffled muffler which looks like it came from a Sportster. I paid $10 CDN for that one. My husband wants to gut it and try some modifications for my Savage. My idea was to buy a set of "Screamin' Eagle" pipes (for a '98 Softail). They are "baloney-style slashcut" with some baffling inside but I suspect it's minimal. Has anyone here tried Screamin' Eagle mufflers with the Savage? I am interested in improving the sound but mostly the performance. Unfortunately, I test-drove a Savage last year that had some form of after-market exhaust on it, and it was a lot more powerful than my bike. So now I'm bitten by a bug to achieve that feeling on my own bike.
Anyhow, any advice or suggestions you folks might have on these mufflers would be greatly appreciated!
